RJUSD Seeks Applicants for Measure J Citizens Oversight Committee
The Riverdale Joint Unified School District (RJUSD) is seeking a qualified volunteer to serve on the Measure J Citizens Oversight Committee that would satisfy the following category: "Bona fide Taxpayer Association Representative". Measure J, which was passed by voters in November 2020, is a $25.9 million school facilities improvement measure. Those interested in filling an existing vacancy on the committee should contact the office of the superintendent.
California state law requires that a Citizens Oversight Committee be appointed by the Board of Education to monitor bond expenditures and ensure bond revenues are allocated in compliance with the voter-approved measure. The committee provides transparency and maintains public confidence in the use of Measure J bond funds.
Membership is voluntary, without compensation, and members must be 18 years of age; employees, vendors, contractors, consultants, or RJUSD officials are not eligible for appointment to the Committee. The Committee meets on the final Tuesday of the months of March, June, September, and December.
